Read more...In this abstract painting I try to bring together all the colours I see from day to day in the landscape around me. It is painted on a heavily textured background mimicking cloth with the colours weaving in and out like the threads in the fabric.
Read more...Announcing the launch of my new Website, http://karenballpaintings.com to showcase the paintings I have created. The most recent painting is the Mountains. This is a large canvas with lots of loose brush strokes. I under painted with a wash of light greys and blues and then painted over in thick oils, using a combination of brushes and palette knives. I wanted to create a painting that looked like a mountain range without applying too much detail. I really wanted to use the viewer’s imagination to complete the picture. Before the Mountains I painted the Plough lines. I got the idea...
